Please forgive me if I am brief this week. It is a busy and exciting time for me. I am taking deep breathes to remind myself to relax and savor these moments.
Yesterday, I went out to the island to celebrate my upcoming birthday with friends. I could not help but reflect how fortunate I am. My sons are fabulous young men and healthy. My husband is a great guy. (If I say too much more here, I won’t be able to live with him, so enough said.) I live in Paradise! I walked the beach, collecting shells and disturbing crabs who were none too pleased with that. Then, relaxing at the water’s edge I looked up to see the most amazing birds fly by. Huge, pink spoonbills!
I have never seen them flying before. In fact, I think I have only seen them in zoo’s and habitats before. Brilliant, pink and graceful, they flew by. It seemed to symbolize to me just how love permeates my life. I am blessed, and grateful.
Now, off to appointments and this crazy week. I will stop in to let you know how things are going, dear readers. Thank you all for the love I feel from your messages. (Even you Maxie!)
How awesome to see the birds. I have been lucky enough to have white cranes fly over me with huge fish in their talons on two occasions which was pretty neat. Also a huge hawk sat on my back fense when I was out back. We do live in a paradise if we just take time to look around us.I love hearing about your adventures.
Debbie, thank you for sharing some very special moments from your private life.
We have learned to stop and smell the flowers along the paths of life. It is awesome to be alive! Your friends in blogging. Silly Willy & Fluffy
Happy Birthday! (for whenever it is, in case I miss it)
Yes!!! Best Wishes for a Happy Birthday and continued happiness as you continue to sage gracefully!
Your VERY lucky to see the ocean. I have not seen it for 12 years. If I could live anywhere it would be along the Atlantic…Cape Cod maybe.
I long to smell salt water again. I get soooo envious of you people who see the sea!!!
I guess I should be grateful for all our Fresh Sparkling Clean Canadian Water ??…well it is in some places anyways.
I used to live in the country near a pack of wolves…Meh…trade ya for the ocean…salt water taffy, sea food (my favorite)…and that pink bird???
@ eleni,
I would love to have seen the hawk, did you get pictures? I know you are good at catching those moments. By the way, if you read this after Monday night, did you see the rainbow last night?
@ silly & fluffy,
you two have the greatest outlook!
@ jodith,
gee thanks! Tuesday is the big day, and I am still trying to convince my sons I am 28. They aren’t buying it though.
@ philo,
thank you, happiness is a state of mind that we both share!
@ Alan,
the Atlantic is beautiful. I am actually on the Gulf of Mexico, calm and warm as bath water! I would love to visit the territory you live in though. It conjures up pictures of deep green summers and beautiful white winters.
Yes I was out of my cave and saw it out the window of Bill’s van.Rainbows are always so awesome.
I did not get shot of cranes but do have one of egret with fish. Almost wrecked on 19 getting into a parking lot to get picture.Never did claim to have good sense
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOGGER MOM!
Hope the upcoming year brings you all the happiness and success you deserve!
@ Canuckle,
thanks! Take care of the blogger grandbabies and I see a year of thrills ahead!
@ eleni,
I was out running last night when I turned a corner and the rainbow was right in front of me. Perfect way to end the run!
Would you please be careful on 19, it is scary enough on that road!
WOW! That’s just beautiful!! What a moment!
Btw, i see many people are wishing happy birthday to you, so i guess it’s your birthday *doh* :p
So.. happy birthday to you.. 🙂
Debbie, your last couple of posts are so wonderful. I admit I have only stopped long enough to drop because of time constraints. I miss talking to you at the pub! I don’t get there much anymore either. I did stop in and wish you a happy birthday. But as usual I am always too late. To a great person, happy happy birthday.
