Law of Attraction

Today is National Boss’ Day, according to my calendar. I joked with my friend yesterday that seeing as I work for myself, I should send myself flowers and a card. I love fresh flowers, so maybe I will! It did get me thinking though, how often I have joked in the past about working for the worst boss in the world. When others complain about being overloaded with work or not getting a raise they believe they deserve, I have joked about how my boss (me) way over schedules and underpays me.

If our words have power, it is time to re-think those statements. Perhaps, it is time for me to start saying aloud, I have enough time for all the activities my boss plans. My boss gives me plenty of time to refresh and enjoy the service I render. I also want to remember a Bible verse I heard my father quote many times while growing up: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23

I remember my father whistling as he worked around the house. He always spoke with pride about the company he worked for and the responsibilities they trusted him with. He was clear that he worked the hours he owed them in fair exchange for the pay they promised him.

When I stop and think of what I do and how much I love the changes I am allowed to observe as they occur, I feel truly blessed. My days are filled with authentic moments, isn’t that how I want to live my life?

When I think about payment, I have to remember the Law Of Attraction. Is it really smart for me to state how cheap my boss is? I wonder if the Universal Intercom System is on and my words have been overheard? YIKES! All of my needs are met and I have many luxuries in my life as well, so I guess the Universal Bank Account has been plenty generous with me.

The Law Of Attraction is pretty much discussed everywhere. The movie “The Secret” has been out for quite a while now as well as the book and now other assorted complimentary items. I have taught about attracting what you want in life for a long while now, in many different forms. I believe that what you focus on is important. I have seen evidence that our bodies respond to our thoughts, illnesses are created by the stresses we carry around.

All of that being said, I draw the line when someone wants to implicate the victim of a natural disaster or some such similar occurrence. Unfortunately bad things do happen to good people. Call it a life lesson or simply state that life isn’t fair, it is a truism we all must accept. Therefore, when a colleague of mine sent this link, I knew I had to share it. It is to the Guru You University. There is a movie on this page called SHHHHH! We learn that it is by knowing our SHHHH! we use the magic of SHHHH! to change our lives. We all have bad SHHHH!, we can change it to good SHHHH!

So click on this link, watch the movie and step into SHHHH!

The Law Of Attraction states that what you focus on, you create. Well, interestingly, I am finding evidence of that this past week. Writing about rapport over the past couple of days, has made me so very aware of observing others and their interactions. I find that I am observing people in traffic, watching how they relate to their passengers in the vehicle with them. I am watching store clerks interact with customers and the wait staff in restaurants.

Last night I went to an event at the Tampa Bay Technology Forum. Prior to the speaker, there was a time to network. I approached a woman and introduced myself. She responded with a huge smile and our conversation took off. I used my practiced skill of listening. Listening, another vital part of developing rapport. I now know her whole life story. I guess you could say I established rapport.

The reason I tell this however, is not to brag about what I did. Rather, it is an observation I made during our lengthy conversation. The woman is in sales. She is bright, well educated and clearly has a passion for her product. However, she unloaded her entire pitch on me with force. She spoke so continuously that there were no breathes taken. She put her card in my hand and never asked for my information.

She was over whelming. There was no give and take, no pacing, no mirroring of my stance, breathing or any physiological signs. I changed stance, shifted, slowed down and even looked away. She was so on fire, she never noticed.

She has no way to follow up on our conversation now, as she neglected to find out how to contact me. Further more, the whole sales pitch was done without qualifying if I am in fact a good prospect.

I know of another individual who is in sales, recently changed from a phone room to a show room. He has brought his high pressure energy to an industry that is slower paced. Where he works now, you want to “court” the customer. The sales are in the millions of dollars, so it is best to allow the customer to decide there is trust in this particular deal. He presses flesh and expects a sale within an hour. Needless to say, he has not closed a single deal in the over 6 months he has been in his position and in fact has scared away prospective buyers.

Take some time to notice how well you listen. It amazes me how many times people think they know everything about me, because they have told me their life story. If pressed, they couldn’t tell you much about me, but they truly believe they know me well. Why? Because I have listened to them. Funny thing is, the more I listen, the more I learn. Listening allows me to enjoy people so much more, because many times their story really is interesting.

If Valentines Day is so happy, why do one in four Americans refuse to celebrate it? And why do 15% of American women (and some men) send flowers to themselves?

Obviously, we haven’t all found our true love. But it isn’t for lack of trying. We gamely go to singles events. We cross our fingers and register online. We hound friends for introductions. We even hang out in bars. But six months or six years later, we still sigh when Elvis asks, “Are you lonesome tonight?”

Remember the guy in Love Potion #9 who was a “flop with chicks?” Well he almost got it right. But instead of going to Madame Rue for something to drink, he should have come to Wisdom Hypnosis for something to think. Hypnosis may seem magical, but it isn’t magic. Hypnosis is a marvelous tool to use to reach goals, make changes and allow dreams to become realities. That being said, action is still a part of success. (Law Of Attraction) Weight management is a perfect example. Through hypnosis, you may become better about food choices, portion sizes and stopping snacking at night. We can increase your desire to exercise. It is up to you to take responsibility for following through after our session.

I explain all of this by way of sending a huge shout out to a client I will call Ms. E! She has followed through with every suggestion, remaining diligent and has slowly seen progress. She is no where near her goal, yet. She has had physical challenges that are beyond the pale. Still, she hasn’t given up, she just fights harder. Her attitude is positive and determined. In my eyes, she is a star!

Ms. E, you know who you are, I stand in awe of you.

I have a wonderful client who has had a dream for some time. Hers has been a dream of stepping outside the box, combining her knowledge of medicine and other healing modalities and her creative nature to birth a new business. She is by “day” a very serious, very accomplished nurse. Her creative side included seeing through the eyes of a lense into the healing power of nature. She has used the power of hypnosis and her subconsiocus to realize this dream.

When I first met with her, this business was only a dream. In fact, when I first met her, she was almost afraid to speak this dream. Since then, she has visualized her desires. She has spoken those desires. Her thoughts have become things and she has taken action. How powerful in the Law Of Attraction it is to take action, yet how seldom that is mentioned.

Well, this incredible woman has taken action. I am pleased and proud to link to her site, Divine Moments Captured. She gives the glory to God, she see’s the beauty in His creation and her ability to capture it has mesmerized my most critical artistic friends. Please, stop and take a moment to visit: Divine Moments Captured

I must add, the genius behind her website is the same genius behind mine. I guess there a times when I just feel blessed! She has promised to attend my World Hypnotism day seminar at Oak Trail Books, if you want to meet this incredible person! (I hope that was okay to share, Cindy!)
